something to do

What's with the hardcore memorizing? This seems to have taken over actually figuring something out by yourself. This is why I hate my major. I now have to know more than a hundred pages by heart till the beginning of next week and those notes are already summed up versions of the articles I'm supposed be able to rush down when questioned. It's not exactly bedside reading either.
I think I caught some kind of summer flu or whatever. It's the sucky kind that's not serious enough to let you stay at home it's just bad enough to make every second a more memorable experience. I don't know, I feel kinda drowsy. And I haven't had a whole lot of sleep lately, I'm more or less drifting in and out.
But the semester's almost over and things are about to slow down in a week or so, so I'm glad for that.
Two weeks ago I got to see Beck in concert which was really fun although he didn't seem to be all that motivated. The new record's pretty good though, I've been listening to it 24/7. ...I can't even hit the keys properly. I should lie down but tomorrow's another exam and I just realized I haven't looked at my notes yet, I just kept rereading some of the articles. Now I'm jacked up on caffeine and it's all mixed with this hazy feeling of not being quite here.
I already regret having applied for this apprenticeship in a couple of weeks. It's gonna take up all summer and I'm not being paid at all for my 39 hour work week. It's the worst really. It has a decent reputation though so it goes right to my resume.
So, how is everybody? I haven't heard anything for ages it seems. Give me an update!
hope you're fine

...still no card, i know

I know I still haven't written a card. I can barely get myself to mailing out some stuff for my next internship. I've gotten hold of a possible position at Germany's kids' tv network. It's stationed right where I live and it's pretty much the most prestigious thing you can get around here. I hope I don’t actually have to work with any kids though but oh well…

So the semester is finally over, I just have to finish a couple of papers and then I’m all set to enjoy my free time. Haven’t yet figured out what to do though. I’m probably gonna drop in on some of my friends and maybe I’ll get a job or something. I never really know what to do with my free time. I mean college gives you plenty of free time the whole year around even when you’re technically supposed to do something. There are weeks where you just hang around bars and are too hung over to actually go to your courses most of the days. And then there are weeks where there’s nothing really happening at all and you’re glad to see someone at least once a week. That’s usually right around the end of the semester.

Now  I’m already bored and worst of all I’m pretty much broke as well.  But the end of the month is coming and I think I’ll pull through.

Nothing too exciting.

And now give me an update here, haven’t heard a thing for ages! Hope you’re all doing fine.

cheers

well...sorry

I still remember that Myke told me: Well, we don't expect much, just a Christmas card would be nice. Or something like that. Well, first, I hope you got the package. But there is no card inside, I'm sorry. Since I'm not living at home anymore and wasn't dropping by too much we had to decide to either ship it without the card or wait for the card and ship it then (it would have been late obviously).
Okay, I guess that's not a real excuse but I'm close, right?
I haven't yet written a card, sorry for that but I'm gonna. It's gonna be a New Year's/Christmas card kind of thing.

Other than that Christmas gets less and less exciting every year. I don't know why. Now it's like one in the morning (24th) and I just came back from a nice walk outside in the snow (with an even nicer beer). Got loads of stuff to do over the break and it's not all fun. Oh well, oh well. Nothing too exciting.
Hoping to hook up with a girl from my spanish class (a different girl than last time, obviously). She's from Bavaria  (state in the south of Germany) which is kinda odd since we have so many (unflattering) stereotypes about Bavarians where I come from but again... oh well. Doesn't matter.
I hope you have a nice Christmas and a happy New Year. Hope my card gets there in time.

Well, so what's new? I'm back in school, college, university whatever you wanna call it and it's kinda fun. Spanish is probably my favorite class and there is this class called governance in a network society which is in english and it's quite fun as well.
Tomorrow I'm probably gonna meet up with some old buddies of mine and you know, party a little. Haven't really done much partying lately. I miss my old roommate (flat mate?), the new one's nice too but it's not the same... Not so much late night drinking anymore and no trading rooms for a night. It's a shame.
Other than that two friends of mine (guys obviously) asked me to move in with them and I gotta say it sounds tempting but I'd probably drink way too much and maybe pick up another nasty habit or two (they're both smokers). And all this hassle with moving furniture and finding a new place, I don't think I'm up for it after all, I'm just too lazy and my current living arrangement isn't bad at all either.
Yeah nothing's really happening...
How's Hannes doing? Is he adapting? I need an update here...

Sooooo? How's it going? How's he doing?
Thinking about how the new kid's doing sort of brings back the old memories. Good times, good times. And it's already been three years! Time's just flying by.
Well, my internship's over and I have about three weeks of vacation left. I'm a little bored and don't really know what to do. Next weekend I'm hopefully gonna see my brother. I actually haven't seen him since Christmas which feels a little weird but you don't really realize how fast time's suddenly going by.
I'm a little annoyed because one of my roommates moving to Berlin and I and my other roommate have to find someone else to stay with us. I already hated it last time we had to interview a gazillion people and up until a couple of days ago I was really hoping she wouldn't go but what can you do... So that's pretty much what's keeping me busy these days. That and cleaning up. The past three weeks made me suddenly realize that it's gotta be me who's responsible for all the chaos. My roommates were at home or somewhere abroad and I had to clean the kitchen about three times although there was nobody home other than me! It was terrible. And tomorrow I have to clean the bathroom which I actually hate most. But again - what can you do?
So take care and give me an update about what's going on with Hannes (?) and stuff.
